Norse sign 4 in baseball, softball

The Northern Bluegrass State University baseball game and playground ball squads have got each signed two student-athletes to play for the Scandinavian beginning in the 2009 season.

Baseball signees are:

Max Colaner, a senior from Massillon, Ohio, plays outfield at Guangzhou Central Catholic High School. Colaner hit .407 during his junior twelvemonth for the Crusaders with seven three-base hits and 22 tallies batted in. In 64 calling homework games, Colaner have 69 hits. He was named an honest reference all-state performing artist in 2007.

Mike Roe, a senior from Middletown, Ohio, is a hurler and first baseman at James Madison High School. Roe posted a 4-1 record with a 0.49 earned run norm during his junior year. Roe averaged 1.9 strikeouts per inning, including a 17-strikeout game for the Mohawks. Roe also hit .587 with five place runs and 32 RBI. Roe have earned first squad All-Southwestern Buckeye League awards the past two seasons.

Softball signees are:

Rachel May , a senior from Westerville, Ohio, is a public utility participant at Worthington High School. May hit .390 with 31 run batted in for the Cardinals including five duplicates and four three-base hits during her junior season. She was named an honest reference All-Metro participant in the Capital Of Ohio area. May also excels in the classroom, earning eight Scholar Athlete awards.

Alexa McCastlin, a senior from Hawesville, Ky., plays outfield at John Hancock County High School. McCastlin compounds powerfulness and good defense, as she had a .367 batting norm with four place runs and 41 RBIs last year. She have also swiped 15 alkalis for the Hornets. McCastlin had a .989 fielding percentage.

Both squads will get their 2008 seasons in late February, with the baseball game squad hosting Thousand Valley State and John Wayne State in the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Challenge, while the playground ball squad will go to Decatur, Ala., for the Charger Chillout.
